Introduction
Student activities are the broad field in which students practice their hobbies. It is a group of positive programs that interact towards specific goals in order to achieve them to develop the student’s personality, raise his ability, and occupy his free time. The student is its focus and goal. Achieving positivity in his life is an important and intended matter in addition to his academic studies.
Activities of the Students Activities Division
Under patronage of the Institute Dean, Professor Dr. Qahtan Adnan Al-Fatlawi, the Student Activities Division at Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute, in cooperation with Al-Rumaitha Youth Forum, organized a fine arts festival with the participation of a number of local artists, including painters and calligraphers. The festival witnessed a turnout from students and visitors.
The event was opened in the presence of the administrative and scientific assistants and a number of associates and artists who praised the importance of this event in promoting artistic culture within the academic community.
The events included many art exhibitions that displayed various works in Arabic drawing and calligraphy. The painter, Dr. Zeina Muhammad Al-Karaawi, participated with a group of innovative drawings that simulate reality. The calligrapher artist, Amir Salman Al-Waeli, also participated with some calligraphy and drawings, in addition to many drawings and artistic works from the youth of the city. Al Rumaitha
In his opening speech, the Dean of the Technical Institute stressed the importance of such festivals in supporting young talents and encouraging artistic creativity, noting that the Institute always seeks to hold cultural and artistic events that contribute to developing students’ skills and developing their artistic taste. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to the head of the Student Activities Division, Mr. Muhammad Raji Al-Hassani, for the good organization and management of the festival.
In conclusion, the Dean extended his thanks and gratitude to the Director of the Youth Forum in Rumaitha, Mr. Ahmed Kamel Al-Rayes, for his cooperation in supporting youth artistic energies
participation of the students of Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute in the second scout camp organized by Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University – Department of Students Activities in cooperation with the Department of Media and Government Communication under the patronage of the honorable President of the University, Professor Dr. Hassan Latef Al-Zubaidi.
Rumaitha Technical Institute holds a competition entitled (Treasure of Information)
Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Qahtan Adnan Al-Fatlawi, the Student Activities Division at Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute held a competitive competition between the institute’s departments entitled the Information Treasure Competition, in which the questions varied (religious / general / sports). The competition aims to encourage reading and acquiring knowledge, and it is also distinguished by being a special competition for the month of Ramadan. Through it, he made sure that the questions are relevant to the month of Ramadan, and that they contain important information about the Holy Qur’an, the prophets and the household (peace be upon them all).
The competition lasted for two rounds. In the first round, the first round qualified for the Electricity Department and the second round qualified for the Accounting Department
The second round was won by the Electrical Department’s first-stage team with 17 points, compared to 16 points for the Accounting Department team.

National Afforestation Day in the gardens of Al- Rumaitha Technical Institute
Based on the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, and coinciding with the Prime Minister’s launch of the afforestation initiative for five million trees and palm trees, and considering (March 12) of each year (National Afforestation Day), students and employees of Al- Rumaitha Technical Institute carried out the project under the guidance of the Dean of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Qahtan Adnan Al-Fatlawi, under the direct supervision of the Dean’s Assistants and the Student Activities Unit, an afforestation campaign to plant trees and shrubs in the institute’s gardens, as well as A workshop was held on afforestation and its importance in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture in Rumaitha, which was delivered by the Director of the Department of Agriculture and the Head of the Environment Department in the department, in addition to other workshops held to raise the students’ sense of environmental responsibility. The importance of this day comes to protect the environment, make it more beautiful and cleaner, and create a climate and study atmosphere for our dear students, wishing everyone more giving, excellence and creativity.
Under the patronage of the Dean of Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute, Professor Dr. Qahtan Al-Fatlawi, the Institute – Students Activities Unit, in cooperation with the Cultural Committee in Rumaitha, held a cultural camp under the title (Read five minutes and buy the book for free), where the Dean welcomed the members of the Cultural Committee in Rumaitha.
The Dean stated that the camp is considered an educational awareness camp aimed at disseminating the biography and beliefs of the household (peace be upon them) and conveying a beautiful picture of the institute’s students and their interests in cultural affairs.
The camp included an exhibition of various religious books, as well as competitions and booklets on knowledge in the Qur’an
It also includes various religious and cultural books given to the reader as gifts, in addition to distributing gifts to competition winners.
In turn, the attending committee expressed their happiness with the support provided by Al-Rumaitha Technical Institute for culture, calling for the continuation of cultural camps that develop the students’ energies and provide them with information
Under the patronage of the President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University, Professor Dr. Muzaffar Al-Zuhairi, and under the supervision of the Dean, Professor Dr. Qahtan Adnan Al-Fatlawi, and in the presence of the University Supervision Committee assigned by the esteemed university presidency.

The festival began with a remembrance of verses from the Holy Qur’an and the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah to the martyrs of Iraq
Then there was a speech by the Dean of the Institute, in which he welcomed the attendees and also extended his thanks and appreciation to all those in charge of the festival, including employees and students.
The festival included poetry recitation, in addition to a short story and a play about the scourge of drugs, performed by students of the Electrical Technology Department.
The festival included a large display for the institute’s students, in which religious, cultural and scientific books were displayed, in addition to handicrafts and drawing boards
The festival concluded by presenting the Creativity Shield to the Chairman and Supervisory Member in appreciation of their efforts in enriching the cultural scene in the city of Rumaitha, and certificates of participation for those who contributed to the success of this cultural festival
