In collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, the Electrical Department at the institute organized a training course titled “Electric Motor Winding Techniques.”
The course, presented by Ms. Donia Jawad Kazem, aimed to enhance participants’ skills in the maintenance and rewinding of electric motors. It included comprehensive sessions on identifying motor types and components, diagnosing common faults, and testing windings and insulation.
Practical training covered the disassembly of motors, documentation of previous winding data, preparation of the iron core, and both manual and automated winding techniques. Participants also learned how to calculate the appropriate number of turns and wire cross-sections, with emphasis on proper insulation methods and securing the windings safely.
The course concluded with motor reassembly, insulation and balance testing, a trial run, and performance analysis to ensure high-quality results.
This initiative is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to enhance the practical skills of both staff and students. The course witnessed active participation and positive interaction from attendees.
